WHO WE ARE

About Us

As an employee of a large cable company our founder was responsible for parts of the Downtown St. Louis area.  While driving around he would see families without a place to stay and various individuals sleeping outside in inclement weather.  He contacted some of his friends and together we were able to serve hot food in the plaza behind the Main Library.  During this process the City of St. Louis informed us that we need to have a 501c3 in order to continue so Rest Ministry was born.

Since the first day until now we have helped hundreds of families with food, clothes, furniture, school supplies, rental assistance and funeral expenses.  Our mission was to fill the gaps for families needing assistance to get over the hump.

In 2019, our name changed to R.E.S.T (Respond, Establish, Stabilize, Transform).  The new name reflects the direction of the company.  We will be able to partner with other organizations and provide more services and include specialty services.  Our goal is to meet the need of everyone in house or through referral.

WHY WE DO IT

Our Mission

To serve the community with distinction and help fill the daily gaps of all families.

Our compassionate task is to aid families and victims of drought; to set up social developmental, literacy, education and housing programs.

R.E.S.T seeks alternatives which give rise to homelessness, illiteracy, under nourishment and unemployment.

We will Respond to the call, Establish the need, Stabilize through connectivity and Transform through continuum service.
